As part of the “Marjan 2020 – Hill of the Past, Oasis of the Future” project, workshops were conducted for the local population focusing on the flora and vegetation of the forest park.
The most frequent visitors to Marjan are residents of Split, who view Marjan as a place for rest, relaxation, and enjoyment of natural heritage. Thanks to the coexistence with Marjan, known as the city’s “lungs”, people are becoming increasingly aware of the endangerment of the area and the necessity to protect biodiversity. As a result, they were educated on how to coexist with nature, focusing especially on the most important plants and animals, protected zones, and the appropriate use of the forest park. These workshops are also a means of promoting Marjan's biodiversity for future generations.
