Project "Marjan 2020 – A Hill of the Past, an Oasis of the Future” project is a unique example of achieving significant progress with minimal interventions in natural heritage. It puts the entire previously devastated infrastructure in the function of new growth, development, employment, but also improving the overall sustainability and biodiversity of the Marjan Forest Park. With targeted activities, products and infrastructure, the project will contribute to the increase in the number of visitors and tourists – and restore Marjan's splendor and reaffirm its status as one of the main symbols of its city of Split. The key goals of the project are to enhance Marjan's protection and sustainability, increase visitor numbers by expanding key facilities, and revitalize and put into function the existing buildings and surfaces. The target group of the project includes all visitors of Marjan – people of all ages, athletes, recreationists, individuals with various disabilities, daily users, local residents, and increasingly, tourists. The aim is to develop diverse visitor offer, tailored to their preferences and needs.
