Within the framework of the project Marjan 2020 – Hill of the Past, Oasis of the Future, and as part of the School in Nature Program, the former dovecote was renovated and transformed into an educational pavilion, which today functions as an outdoor classroom. Another part of it is an educational vegetable garden intended for planting vegetables, fruits, medicinal herbs and flowering plants. These activities aim to encourage children to spend more time outdoors and interact with each other, and they are carried out in collaboration with schools and preschool education institutions.
As part of the School in Nature program, children learn about biodiversity, natural processes, nature conservation, and coexistence with the environment. The content is tailored to their age and emphasizes the importance of continuous play.
Ultimately, this is a public space used for both education and child development. Therefore, we kindly request citizens not to damage or harvest fruits from the vegetable garden, as they are intended for humanitarian and educational purposes, and great effort was put forth to create this.
