As part of the “Marjan 2020 – Hill of the Past, Oasis of the Future” project, workshops were conducted for preschool and elementary school students, focusing on topics related to the flora and vegetation of the forest park
The workshops included programs on the flora and vegetation of the forest park, traditional architecture, and geological foundations. The workshops for preschool and elementary school children were led by experienced individuals who had created and implemented similar workshops before. They introduced innovative and creative learning materials and outdoor play-based methods.
The workshop titled “Promotion of sustainable development and environmental protection” is designed for residents of all ages, aiming to enhance awareness of the systematic preservation of biodiversity across the entire area. This aligns with the specific goal of this initiative, which is to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity through promoting protected natural areas.
Workshops on multifunctional kinesiological development were conducted for children and young people, aiming to enhance their psycho-physical abilities through diverse content tailored to their age and capabilities. It is important to support their proper growth and development through play. In this way, children are oriented towards sports from an early age. Moreover, initiatives like these help children and young people develop a love for sports, to look forward to games and competitions, to be happy, fast, strong, capable, curious and above all, healthy. Marjan serves as the primary location for implementing the multi-functional kinesiological development workshops because it has all the necessary infrastructure elements required to host such workshops in the future, after the project's completion.
The entire multifunctional program will be developed as a distinct educational initiative in collaboration with the Public Institution for Marjan Forest Park Management and the University Sports Association. It aims to be highly competitive and widely recognized for its comprehensive content and the facilities it develops, specifically within the forest area and its immediate surroundings, including futsal and basketball fields.
